There are hardly any dents and it is in clean conditionwe are 4 miles north of kington, 18 miles west of ludlowit measures 69cm wide, 48cm deep and 47cm highthe inside has not been painted so is original with some signs of wear on the bottom where the paint has worn somewhatthis can of course be lined with paper or cloth etcthis polishes up nicelycollection only and cash on collection pleaseit is in good condition for its age and all sides except for the underneath have has been painted in a creamy off white farrow and ball colour, dimitythe trunk is very handy for storing items as a lot fits insideit has a brass lock on the front (there is no key so this is purely decorative)large tin trunk this substantial trunk dates back to victorian/edwardian times

Just about square, with a tilting-out front door, and a metal liner inside – the metal liner has handles to lift it out for cleaning / re-loadingoriginal ornate brass handles and plates, one each side, one on the frontapart from that, it appears to be in good, original conditioni’m pretty certain it’s mahogany, but i’m not knowledgeable about woodscondition it has (or had) a pillared gallery around 3 sides of the top – unfortunately, 1 side and the back (still joined) have come off, and several of the baluster-shaped pillars are missing (see 2nd photo)51x35x34 cm (a/f) here is a general description, but please refer to the photographsantique victorian/edwardian purdonium (coal box), mahogany, approxthe ‘floor’ has reinforcing blocks underneath, for extra strength (see last photo)this is why i have put “(a/f)” (or as found) in the titleit is quite heavy – kg(if these cannot be properly restored, one option would be to remove the gallery completely, and maybe put a glass top on the box
