portmeirion pottery began in when pottery designer susan williams-ellis (daughter of sir clough williams-ellis, who created the italian-style portmeirion village in north wales) and her husband, euan cooper-willis, took over a small pottery-decorating company in stoke-on-trent called alovely retro vintage portmeirion meridian casserole dish designed by susan williams-ellisthese two businesses were combined and portmeirion potteries ltd was borngray for some years, commissioning designs to sell at the gift shop in portmeirion village, the items bearing the backstamp "gray's pottery portmeirionware"in , the couple purchased a second pottery company, kirkhams ltd, that had the capacity to manufacture pottery, and not only decorate itmade in englandsusan williams-ellis had been working with acollection onlydecorated with purple pink and orange on a white groundthe casserole dish is in excellent condition with just the minor firing imperfections it left the factory with and some minor crazing to the glaze to prove the age! please refer to the photos for further detail

Large shallow pottery bowl, 27cm acrossit is stamped on the base with the brixton pottery back-stamp and is from their floral garland range, still currently availablethe bowl stands approxdecorated with a garland of small blue daisy-like flowers and leavesthe rim has a blue circle style decorationit is fairly heavy so i would prefer (safe) collection in person pleasethere are no chips or cracks, it hasn't been through my dishwasher and it has been carefully storedit makes an ideal fruit or salad bowl, and is pretty enough to display empty
