Meyhew was classed as a absolute genius as a clockmaker the clock cast iron weights are identical in size and weight to work the three trains which is very rare for a 3 train 9 bell musical clockthree train musical grandfather clocks on bells are very rare and sort after (this clock sounds amazing) the clarity of the bells are excellent playing on 8 bells on each quarter chime and the 9th bell on the hourly strikefor sale a william meyhew 8 day date musical three train 9 bell longcase clock with its original cuban mahogany case and brass hood finals & wood fretwork (the original clock longcase on its own is a stunning piece of craftsmanship) the clock case was fully refurbished 41 years ago by john williams of angleseyeverything on the clock is original from when it was made in it is a lot of clockit is collection only from chester cheshire read morethe clock was then sold in at a clock fair for restoration the next owner had it 39 yearsif you are a novice to clocks i will offer as much advise as possiblethe movement was last fully stipped and serviced in since then it has just been oiled every two yearsi am in no rush to sell it and would consider any triple fusee mahogany bracket clocks on bell's in px or a tavern clock wwilliam meyhew of woodbridge made the clock for leeds castle in kent and the clock is engraved william meyhew leedsclocks are just a hobby for me and dealers would be asking a lot more for a clock of this quality the clock is a very good long term antique investment and will bring any room a live when working and the bell's are playingthe clock was sold off after olive lady baillie died in and the castle was left to the castle trust
