Fidelio, royal opera house programme, elegant and stylish maroon red glossy programme with royal arms for winter seasonhas photos and relevant informed articles about the current production and the music and the creation of this beethoven operathe viewers were played by the royal opera chorus, and throughout the act, individual faces from the chorus were projected on to the back of the stage, using photo montage film, copied yet again from the paris opera and the bastille, somewhat appropriately in this particular casethe orchestral playing by the royal opera house orchestra conducted by antonio pappano, was excellent, along with the singing with lise davidsen as leonore, george zeppenfeld as rocco, amanda forsythe as marzelline (rocco's daughter), jonas kaufmann as florestan, simon neal as don pizarro, (military governor of the prison), robin tritschler as jaquino (a prison gatekeeper) and the royal opera chorus and supporting actorspostage extra or collection in person freethere was also separate panels that came on and off the stage for rocco's office, and this had some interesting props with candles etcit was in classical style and looked rather like the entrance to hmp pentonvillethe set for act ii consisted of what appeared to be a large committee style room with viewers all dressed in modern style suitsin the middle was what appeared to be a large rock found on beaches, where floristan appeared to be chained to itthe set for act i consisted of a large courtyard with a gate entrance with the french flag on the topthe rest of the set as dark grey brown to give the impression of a dreary courtyard

Alice's adventures under ground, royal opera house programme, elegant and stylish maroon red glossy programme with royal arms for winter seasonhas photos and relevant informed articles about the recent production and the music and the creation of this new and ground making operathe orchestral playing by the royal opera house orchestra conducted by thomas ades, was excellent, along with the singing with claudia boyle as alice, clare presland as the red queen, queen of hearts, hilary summers as the white queen, sam furness as the white king, and peter tantsits, mark stone, joshua bloom, lukas hunt, bianca hopkins and eloise hyman in the other supporting roleseach stage of the performance went through the story beginning with alice falling through the holepostage extra or collection in person freethe sets consisted for the most part of a theatre proscenium giving a card like appearance, with various interesting backdrops throughout the 57 minutes of this performancethe props were the most interesting part of this performance with large blue bottles entitled "drink me", a cheshire cat, toy soldiers, knights on horses and a cake entitled "eat me"
