I'm pretty sure that the electronics were subcontracted to lr baggsthis guitar was made in december according to its custom shop serial number - qlz009a - and the specifcation includes a solid cedar top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard and bridgef you're familiar with the cpx15 series, then you probably expect a guitar made in korea or taiwanthe built-in preamp and pickup provide lots of sound control from the guitar - and you can blend an on-board condenser mic with a piezoalthough the cpx guitars are a smaller "mini-jumbo" size, they feature a full depth body for superior tone and volume when played unpluggedbut i've never been able to confirm this for certain - most of the electronics on yamaha guitars are made in house to a high qualityit sounds great whether plugged in or unpluggedcombine that with mahogany back and sides, and you have a wonderfully warm sound, not to mention beautythe tuners are yamaha stamped, made in japan and probably gotohthe cpx-15 comes from yamaha's "custom shop" in japan, where each guitar is handmade by a single luthieron the subject of the top - cedar is a lighter and more responsive tonewood, giving the guitar better acoustic volume and projectionmy particular guitar has been played and does bear some scars as a result - but there are no cracks or other structural damage, just cosmeticthis is a professional grade guitar, not to be compared to lesser instruments

It just doesn't suit my playing styleit sounds phenomenal, both amplified and acousticallyit comes with its own fitted carry bag and the stand picturedit's an electro acoustic fitted with two separate pickups (lr baggs) for greater coverage of the vast dynamic range of harp guitarsit features a carbon fiber one-piece construction, and has a bubinga veneer fused into the top for that beautiful wood aesthetic with the added stability of carbon fiberit'll be absolutely fine in standard tuning, tooi've spent the past couple of years trying to get used to the instrument, but without successit's also fan fretted, as i enjoy playing in altered tunings in the lower registryfan fretted instruments have much more accurate intonation than non fan frettedthis beautiful instrument was custom built for me by the emerald guitar company back inso, with great reluctance, i have to let it gounfortunately, i fell victim of the old adage 'don't buy before you try'please get in touch if you require any further information
