I'm pretty sure that the electronics were subcontracted to lr baggsthe cpx-15 comes from yamaha's "custom shop" in japan, where each guitar is handmade by a single luthiercombine that with mahogany back and sides, and you have a wonderfully warm sound, not to mention beautyf you're familiar with the cpx15 series, then you probably expect a guitar made in korea or taiwanit sounds great whether plugged in or unpluggedmy particular guitar has been played and does bear some scars as a result - but there are no cracks or other structural damage, just cosmeticthe tuners are yamaha stamped, made in japan and probably gotohalthough the cpx guitars are a smaller "mini-jumbo" size, they feature a full depth body for superior tone and volume when played unpluggedthis guitar was made in december according to its custom shop serial number - qlz009a - and the specifcation includes a solid cedar top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard and bridgethis is a professional grade guitar, not to be compared to lesser instrumentsthe built-in preamp and pickup provide lots of sound control from the guitar - and you can blend an on-board condenser mic with a piezoon the subject of the top - cedar is a lighter and more responsive tonewood, giving the guitar better acoustic volume and projectionbut i've never been able to confirm this for certain - most of the electronics on yamaha guitars are made in house to a high quality

This beautiful instrument was custom built for me by the emerald guitar company back init's an electro acoustic fitted with two separate pickups (lr baggs) for greater coverage of the vast dynamic range of harp guitarsunfortunately, i fell victim of the old adage 'don't buy before you try'it's also fan fretted, as i enjoy playing in altered tunings in the lower registryit'll be absolutely fine in standard tuning, tooso, with great reluctance, i have to let it goit comes with its own fitted carry bag and the stand picturedit features a carbon fiber one-piece construction, and has a bubinga veneer fused into the top for that beautiful wood aesthetic with the added stability of carbon fiberplease get in touch if you require any further informationfan fretted instruments have much more accurate intonation than non fan frettedit just doesn't suit my playing styleit sounds phenomenal, both amplified and acousticallyi've spent the past couple of years trying to get used to the instrument, but without success
