antique victorian/edwardian purdonium (coal box), mahogany, approx(if these cannot be properly restored, one option would be to remove the gallery completely, and maybe put a glass top on the boxi’m pretty certain it’s mahogany, but i’m not knowledgeable about woodsthe ‘floor’ has reinforcing blocks underneath, for extra strength (see last photo)original ornate brass handles and plates, one each side, one on the frontit is quite heavy – kgthis is why i have put “(a/f)” (or as found) in the title51x35x34 cm (a/f) here is a general description, but please refer to the photographsapart from that, it appears to be in good, original conditionjust about square, with a tilting-out front door, and a metal liner inside – the metal liner has handles to lift it out for cleaning / re-loadingcondition it has (or had) a pillared gallery around 3 sides of the top – unfortunately, 1 side and the back (still joined) have come off, and several of the baluster-shaped pillars are missing (see 2nd photo)
