The tuners are yamaha stamped, made in japan and probably gotohbut i've never been able to confirm this for certain - most of the electronics on yamaha guitars are made in house to a high qualityalthough the cpx guitars are a smaller "mini-jumbo" size, they feature a full depth body for superior tone and volume when played unpluggedthis is a professional grade guitar, not to be compared to lesser instrumentscombine that with mahogany back and sides, and you have a wonderfully warm sound, not to mention beautyi'm pretty sure that the electronics were subcontracted to lr baggson the subject of the top - cedar is a lighter and more responsive tonewood, giving the guitar better acoustic volume and projectionf you're familiar with the cpx15 series, then you probably expect a guitar made in korea or taiwanthe built-in preamp and pickup provide lots of sound control from the guitar - and you can blend an on-board condenser mic with a piezoit sounds great whether plugged in or unpluggedthe cpx-15 comes from yamaha's "custom shop" in japan, where each guitar is handmade by a single luthiermy particular guitar has been played and does bear some scars as a result - but there are no cracks or other structural damage, just cosmeticthis guitar was made in december according to its custom shop serial number - qlz009a - and the specifcation includes a solid cedar top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard and bridge

The tone quality and the fit and finish on these guitars is streets ahead of anything else at their price point and indeed way better than many more expensive guitars in my viewthis is my yamaha ll-ta, up for sale and i'm including either the original (very good quality) gig bag it came in, or the kinsman hard case i bought for it, whichever you preferthis example is in as new condition - it's a reluctant sale on my part but i've bought a j-45 and need to fund thatyou're welcome to pop round for a socially distanced try out as this sale is collection, and cash, onlyyou can check out the tech specs on yamaha's website but briefly, these instruments have pre-aged spruce soundboards and rosewood back and sides, and are also fitted with a resonator system providing built in reverb and chorus effects you can access without an amplifier
