Advert Description

Beautiful example of a LARGE stoneware bottle by MOIRA POTTERY, in rich brown saltglaze. Bottle has a pouring lip.

Stamped Moira Pottery at bottom front. There may or may not be an “e” stamped on the base, it’s difficult to tell.

No chips or cracks. Several firing flaws, and some over-glazing of what should be a plain pottery foot, but this is all quite usual with Moira ware. I’ve taken pictures of every part of this to show the various small firing flaws.

Founded in 1922, this I think particular piece dates from the late 20s/ early 30s.

Approx 9 1/2” tall, circumference is just over 13”, diameter across centre base is 4”.
The smaller ones are far more commonplace than this (and often advertised as “Ink bottle”, which they aren’t).

A striking display piece for any collector.

Collection fine, will also post if necessary though I’d be happier with this being collected due to possible transit damage.
