I was surprised at how effective WiFi range repeater is

The media claims for this device type (WiFi Blast) are typical American overhype. However I purchased this WiFi range repeater for £8.54 - very good price - just to check it out. My wifi router is upstairs and I positioned the WiFi range repeater directly below it on the ground floor. I was surprised at how effective WiFi range repeater is. I use a Home-plug wifi system (costing £90) to widen the wifi range in my house and this WiFi range repeater is almost as effective, at a tenth of the cost. The only downside of the WiFi range repeater system is that it does not repeat the 5Ghz router output which a lot of devices use but the available throughput at 2.4Ghz is almost as good.

    Did not Work

Needed my Wifi signal extended to our loft bedroom as our existing signal there was unreliable. This Wifi extender was easy to set up and worked the 1st day. However after the 1st day had to keep resetting it every day by turning it off and on and retyping password sometimes 3 or 4 times before I could reconnect to it. Gave up using it after a week and bought a BT Infinity Home Hub router which works great and now we get a strong signal in the loft bedroom and everywhere else in the house. Kids say it is the best router we have ever had. I have seen reviews where this has worked for others but would not recommend it myself.

  • Good quality and easy to set up

This is a great little device especially for the price. It was easy to set up by following the included instructions. It took a couple of attempts to connect using the WPS method and now gives a strong signal where previously there was only a weak one. My only criticism is that it broadcasts a different SSID meaning that all devices using it have to be manually connected (just once) and also they need to be manually swapped from this device back to the main router if they are moved to a position where the main router signal is stronger, but the extender signal is still useable. Of course, it is ideal for devices that are too far from the main router and which do not move.

  • Brilliant product

For a few years we have been having a problem when my son plays his play station up stairs. The Wi-Fi always crashes and the games just stop or whirl and it was so frustrating for him. We changed supplier then got double speed on the fibre and nothing worked. Ordered this and straight away it cured it. He has perfect signal and the internet never goes off anymore for him. We are so pleased with it and wish we had bought it years ago!

  • An excellent product.

Bought it to use to get a wifi signal in our back garden. Fairly easy to setup once it had paired with my existing router. It does take a little time to pair so dont be in a hurry to get thing going. In all am very happy with this product.

  • Excellent

Bought to try and improve / extend my WiFi for the Ring doorbell. The signal has gone from poor (without, despite having fast WiFi) to excellent signal with this extender. Very pleased with the outcome. Easy to set up. Great product

  • I would strongly recommend this product

We now have clear uninterrupted wi fi signals in the upstairs back bedrooms where before we could barely get any signals from the router. Now the firestick TV, the tablets, phones all are receiving strong constant signals for the few weeks we have had this device. My daughter connected it online and said this was easy to do. I would recommend this product thank you 👍

  • Amazing powerful and easily transmits from building to building.

Amazing item. Solved my internet problem as I wanted internet in my workshop which I had in the office. Was looking at running cables from one building to another. But bought this and bingo problem solved. Is strong enough to transmit from building to building. Best purchase ever. Highly recommended.

  • NETGEAR WIFI EXTENDER

Fantastic bit of kit, used it to extend the wifi signal out into the garden ready for the summer BBQ’s, got another 20M out of it. Very easy to set up, just make sure you connect to the WIFI EXT when your out of range of your router.

  • Waste of time and DANGEROUS

I know I'm one of the few who dont rate this product as great. But, the actual INSTRUCTIONS state that when being used as a WiFi repeater, the speed will be slower....See Q2 on pictures.... Yes, about 70% slower, in other words probably no better than what u had before. BUT....MUCH MORE IMPORTANT is the fact the way the UK plug adapter clips onto the device is VERY POOR INDEED, in fact on more than one occasion I've had to remove it from the wall socket using a screwdriver because it come off the booster so easily, LEAVING LIVE ELECTRICAL CONTACTS EXPOSED. Even in use, the contacts are poor and if u move the booster slightly it powers off. The product has NO safety standard markings, so probably shouldn't be on sale in the UK. Also, even as a WiFi booster, it's actually a different WiFi source, so rather than your device automatically picking it up, if your still connected to your main router, u will have to select the booster instead.... Great. Here we go again, cheaply, dangerously made foreign rubbish that doesn't live up to the task, and if u read the small print, as good as admits it. Don't waste your money.
