The GTX 970 is a capable graphics card that has kept producing impressive frame rates in modern games for years past it's release. At 1080p it can play nearly any game at maximum settings and can provide even 1440p resolution in many. The Asus Strix version has proved to provide extremely good cooling with very little noise. This has meant the life of the card is extended and can even give the option of overclocking.

The GTX 970 is perhaps the most bang-for-buck card you can buy. Easily Outpaces and Out-performs most AMD cards except for the RX 580 and is easily on par with the RX480. It's easy to see why the GTX 970 held the highest market share of any card. Now, here comes ASUS, with their factory overclock, beefy cooler and amazing design. It looks like it came from a stealth fighter, with a lovely black brushed aluminium backplate and a pretty smart fan cooler. This card is quiet... really quiet. The cooling block is so efficient that the fans don't even spin most of the time, and when you do tax the card enough that they have to kick in all you'll hear is a faint hiss. The card maxes out every game I throw at it at 1080p 60fps no problem. I'd love to upgrade to a 10 - series Strix but their so damn expensive for such little gain. If you're looking for a 970, get the Strix. It's the best by far.Read full review

been using this graphics card for 3 weeks and it's been amazing, great boost over my gtx 950, it's pretty quiet and the temperatures are pretty good, never goes above 66 degrees even on full load, great/high fps on all the games I play (GTA 5, Player Unknown's Battlegrounds, Warframe, etc), well impressed.

ASUS Strix 970 been rated as the BEST GTX 970 card to choose its up to 10% faster compared to Other GTX 970 cards. Recommended for Virtual Reality by both Oculus, Steam Vive and other companies. 1253 MHz Factory Overclock, 0DB Fan, 6-phase Super Alloy Power and Excellent Free Asus GPU Tweak Utility. Currently the ONLY video Card with HDMI 2.0 (AMD cards don’t have HDMI 2.0 even in their most expensive Fury cards!) The Ultimate FULL HD + 60FPS to 120FPS video card and cheapest 2K Video card that can do 2K Resolution with mix of Ultra, High and Medium settings at 60FPS. It can easily run previous generation games at Ultimate settings in 4K resolution! Hardware PhysX Acceleration. Dynamic Super resolution (Down sampling) Play any game at higher resolution NOT supported by your TV/Monitor to enhance the picture quality!! Has Hardware Video Decoder for Internet movies and BluRay, supports 3D Stereo, built in Surround Sound Sound Card. Comes with ASUS Overclocking software that’s actually excellent, has full temperature monitor and built in Firmware update (the software is so good that I use it with my MSI 980Ti) 100% Silent, the fans only spin after the GPU heats up to 60 degrees Celsius. Has new exclusive Anti Aliasing called MFAA that is about 100% cheaper then MSAA with same result. The cooler, heatsink and VRMs are so good that it can be overclocked even more, GDDR5 VRAM can easily do 7.8Ghz-8.0Ghz (depends on your luck) and the main GPU can gain extra 200-400Mhz again, depends on luck, temperature and voltage. This card Beats GTX 780Ti in every modern game and most old games and its half the price.
