This is my first camcorder. Was looking for a good quality, reasonably priced device to take on a long holiday that is easy to use and this seems to be just right. I'm sure a professional would disagree but this is purely for amature home footage. Value, new they are circa £200. As I got it for less than £140 on ebay, a bargain. Quality. Picture great with fantastic zoom. I've trialed this in varying lights, still yet to try all the image variants but get back great results especially the zoom. Sound good indoors, a little windy outside but for purposes of narrating as you film fine, I'm sure I could get better sound quality but would have to double, treble the price. Ease of use. fine. Got videoing in minutes after charging the battery. Still learing all the gimics. Have not used editing and probably won't (will do that of a computer). leave a few seconds at the beginning and end of filming to catch all of voice. Buttons on small side so big hands may have issues there. Still picture, not the best but I have a camera besides to do that job. Size, compact, was told the size of a Coke can, it's smaller like a mini coke can, making it easy to carry. The IA and hand steady is good though I would recommend a trip a tripod for really steadyness. Standard size so can get one of those for £12-£15 (ebay, amazon) and the weight is minimal so dosen't need to be sturdy. In brief, I could spend thousands to improve of things and could be disappointed if all was not great, for the money, I'm perfectly happy with this.Read full review
No need to write about the specs-others have done that. The camera is brilliant, and well worth the money. Probably the best feature is the Optical Image Stabiliser, which evens out the "shakes" when hand-holding the camera. Lovely quality of video-after all, it IS full HD. Sometimes the PC won't recognise the memory card while it's in the camera, so simply put the card into the PC card reader. Speaking of memory cards-Class 4 isn't really fast enough for HD video-anything faster is better. I use Class 10. Highly recommended.
