Got it for £18 (incl. shipping). Works well to extend the coverage of wifi from the main wifi router. Bandwidth is great, probably because it uses both 2.4 and 5ghz bands as back haul. One drawback is the weak security which cannot be changed

This repeater works, and is capable of pretty good throughput. As a bit of a tech-head, I want to be able to fine tune its operation. What I wanted to do was to connect the repeater to the main router using 5GHz WiFi and have it rebroadcast on both 5GHz and 2.4GHz. This it will do without any problems, but there is no way to configure which channel and channel bandwidth it will use on 2,4GHz. So I have a repeater connected over a fast link to my router, and it is using the same channel as the main router on 2.4GHz so they interfere with each other. Not so clever. I then came up with a bit of a hack - I set up my phone's WiFi access point on the channel I wanted the repeater to use and had the repeater connect to it on 2.4GHz and at the same time connect to the main router on 5GHz. The repeater was then using the channel I had selected for my phone's access point function. I then turned off the phone's access point which left the repeater using the channel I had selected and relaying the main router's connection from 5HGz to 2.4GHz in the way I wanted. Job done... but it would have been a lot easier if there was a configuration option for this! Read full review

This is not the best looking device but it does actually work very well. Connected effortlessly to my Fritz Box router on both channels and can be moved from room to room without the need to reprogram. Good range considering the low power to which our WiFi is limited. To sum up good value, works well and easy to set up. Recommended

I bought this to replace another TP Link extender that had a habit of dropping out. It was at least 6 years old so I stuck with the brand. This one is 2 band as I have a new BT smart hub. However it is slow and erratic to connect to my devices and I have only got it to work by shutting off the 5Khz band. Also the range is no better than the old model.

Does what it says and extends the signal of your current router by about 4-5 metres on both bandwidths. Don't expect miracles, it sufficiently covered our home dead spots, but if you need wider coverage you will need to spend a bit more. Needed to connect via app browser to setup and secure but there are plenty of instructions provided and the Location Assistant Tool is really helpful with placement to get the best extended signal. So far so good.
