I'm a hobby photographer & I've had several digital cameras over the years, but this one's just so easy to use and delivers typical Canon quality shots every time. I use it for holidays, picturing cars for sale for a friend's advertising, family stuff & pets and I'm never disappointed. It doesn't have a Manual setting but that's never stopped me getting great pictures with it. It's also just about the right size to fit in a jacket pocket without it's case of course. The zoom is outstanding and the stability is remarkable, although on full zoom you'd really need it on a tripod. Colours also are lovely. I'll buy a Canon Compact soon with Manual settings so I can advance my knowledge, probably a G9x but this SX420 is really something, especially for the money. Love that its compact but power and shutter button too close to proximity so kept getting them wrong and switching off instead of taking a shot. Also hate the menu and setup mode which feels awkward and difficult to find specific details. To be honest in hindsight not that impressed with it!
