Firstly I am reviewing this as a tablet for my 6 (going on 21) year old daughter and not an on the go tech nerd playing toptrump tablet in star bucks - the unit specs were good but if you compare to a Kindle Fire or Nexus7 then they look average - the big difference is the parental controls and preloaded children's stuff you get on the Kurio I would say the Kurio is suitable for the ages 5-12 and mum and dad might use on the odd occasion ******* PROS Easy instructions Easy to use Entertaining Good Graphics Interactive Looks expensive Perfect For Kids Customer Service ******* CONS Battery Consumption (4hr playing games 6hr surfing) 4GB memory (is expandable up to 36 GB) Not enough accessories at the moment ******* For kids this is great I did my research and - went to the shops and played with them - the Kurio has the easiest parental controls you will find that give you total control of access with auto time limits - it even has tips on what to set for differing ages and each profile can be set at differing levels - preloaded with enough for any child and the app store has enough to top up (the apps store is not as full as some but Kurio are a new company - give them time and they will be like all the rest where it takes ages to find the app you want - at present there are no accessories but Kurio have really great customer service and responded personally to my email about this and sold me direct a bumper as they hadn't been able to get them to the retailers - they personally followed up on this which made me feel like a I was dealing with a family orientated companyRead full review
I bought this tablet for my 10 year old Son. He has not put it down, since. Great tablet for kids. Parental control is easy to use. Restricts the use of the tablet a bit too tightly, for older kids, who want more action, but is easy to change to other options. Quite restrictive on some apps. that require more processing power of quad core or similar, but most of what I loaded on it, worked ok, with a few a little 'laggy'. OK on wireless, but streaming can hold up, but this may be my supplier? Found it to be a great buy, for the price I paid, but would recommend a version with a faster processor/memory, with similar/same firmware/operating system. will be sticking with KURIO, as a company, as their after service is so good & easy to navigate. More accessories needed. If KURIO ever want a newer model tested & reviewed, put our family name down. Very highly recommended for all families. 10/10 - 5 star product.Read full review
A very disappointing tablet. I bought this for my grandson, and while attempting to set it up, I found it painfully slow, with frequent browser crashes. There is no access to Google Play, so you are limited to the Kurio approved stores. The screen is nice, and the build quality is good, but this is let down by the terrible performance. The Kurio front-end is far too restrictive, and unnecessary. As a result, I bought another tablet, and the Kurio is consigned to its box.
