Fuji FinePix Z1 Digital Camera ..... a very compact digital camera. all metal body with sliding lens cover doubling as on/off switch. 5Mp is more than adequate for most point-and-shoot purposes. This specific model now discontinued/replaced but consequently available from number of sources at knockdown prices. Originally £170+ now can be bought for around £75 - some new, some refurbished by manufacturer. Highly recommended for always-in-yer-pocket camera which is robust and yet produces very competent images.
This is a very good camera. It is a well built, sturdy, lightweight piece of equipment, although not too light. It still has a bit of weight behind it that lets you know it is a quality item. 5.1 MP is enough for any good holiday snaps, and the biggest advantage for me is the lithium-ion battery. This means that you do not have to spend a fortune on AA batteries. It is simple to use, and an added bonus is the ability to record video with sound. An all-round great camera.
Nice slimline camera that is very easy to use and can take good pictures when just using the auto function. Small and compact with a slide front that protects the lens means that you can pop it into your pocket and barely notice its there. Several different settings can be changed via the LCD display on the rear of the camera and only a cursory glance at the manual will have you ready to start taking fine pictures almost immediately. Downside is the camera uses a XD card to store the pictures as oppose to the more popular SD card which means that to download pictures to your PC you either have to buy a XD to USB converter or use the slightly cumbersome cradle to connect to the PC. Charging the battery also means using the cradle, unlike the more up to date cameras which plug straight into the PC via USB, but then this camera is getting a little old and technology does tend to move forward quite quickly. However for the price that these cameras can be picked up for and the ease of use i think these minor faults can be forgiven.Read full review
I got my Z1 as a faulty item, primarily for the memory card. However it was a very easy fix and I now have a bargain working camera so here is a review. the Z1 is well built Heavier than you would expect for such a slim camera. The optical Zoom (3x) roughly equal to 35 to 110mm in 35mm terms. The digital zoom is probably best left unused. The LCD takes up 2/3 of the back of the camera and is very clear. However this means ther is no room for a traditional viewfinder and in low light you will struggle to hold the camera steady at a typical viewing distance. All in all a smart stylish camera that in the right situation can produce cracking images.
I am no expert in the field of digital cameras having only recently been converted to the internet at a fairly advanced age. However my son recommended this particular digital camera as being the absolute bees' knees, top marks digital camera he expressed this somewhat more colloquially. I have found that he is correct. It is superb. The reason I bought it is because I wish to become a seller on ebay as well as a buyer. This super, little sleek camera is so easy for me to handle, convenient to carry around, even easy to use for me, being totally non technical and amazing value for the price. My friends tell me this camera retails new at triple the price I paid. Excellent bargain. Everyone should have one!.Infinitely superior to any other camera I have possessed.Have now bought printer and looking forward to seeing photos on screen and learning how to sell on ebay. Will be so useful.Read full review
