Tried the "mini" version prior to these; but their disc-to-disc range is awful -basically had to have a disc in every room. Range of these AC2600 discs is much better (bigger discs with larger antennas inside / more antennas). Little tricky to install - best to connect every disc to a lan cable from the router first; let the disc configure itself then move it to where you want it to be used via WiFi). App and Web interface is really good. As a Mesh system then moving around the house and always being connected to the strongest disc on the mesh is seamless - excellent

I purchased this item as a boxed but opened and allegedly working disc. Sadly, I fear that Curry's are not properly checking returned items. This disc was faulty as it wouldn't work on wifi once disconnected from the ethernet cable on set up. I purchased a replacement directly from BT in the end and that worked like a dream. It's actually a very good system as long as all the discs are working well. I would not buy a previously sold item from Curry's again as I don't think they are tested when customers return them. It wasn't worth the £10 saved as I had to buy a replacement from BT.

If you struggle to get wifi throughout your house get these. I started with the 3 pack, and have added 2 more discs since, and now have great wifi everywhere in the house, and even in the garden. They are easy to set up, and I found it best in my scenario to have them wired to the router, so I run cables to each of mine, except the one in the garage, which is connected wirelessly. If they are connected wirelessly, the ethernet port in the back can be plugged into a non-wifi device, which can then access the same network - this is great to get wifi to a place where it isnt possible to get wires. Very rarely it seems to act up, but I'm not sure if that is the wifi or my router, a reboot solves it (once/twice a year) I recommend this product to everyone!

Let’s agree what it doesn’t do: It won’t BOOST your Wi-Fi/internet. The Discs are REPEATERS and can only SPREAD the existing signal or what they are receiving. The individual disc range/power is low. Essentially if a node is receiving low strength signal from the router or another disc then it can only extend or repeat that signal strength. It does take a lot a perseverance to get the nodes to connect to the base node. To get the best repeated signal from the base Wi-Fi router these discs need to be placed one every 5-6 meters - that’s a lot of very expensive discs. I’ve set up a 5 disc wholeHome mesh network. One disc plugs into the base router and the other 4 discs are placed in the ground floor rooms. This allows for good reception in all the upstairs rooms above the discs.

Kids will hate this equipment but I think it's brilliant. You can set the amount of time they go on the internet. We have 10 device running on it and it so fast and smooth and has made my rubbish sky wifi so much better and faster
