If you're buying second hand and it's been formatted back to the beginning of time make sure you install every driver from the Dell website before putting a micro sd card into the device. But a cheap usb splitter as there's only the one on the device. Has some really good accessories that have issues of their own as well. It's easy to upgrade and switch a new battery but you can't get at the ram sticks. It can't run 3d cad programmes although it has done everything else I've installed on it.

After charging following a flat battery it would not boot into windows with a black 'DOS' type screen with the following: 'No bootable device found. Press F1, F2 F3 etc'. This was repeated each time following a re-start. Following contact with the supplier they kindly gave the following advice: 'press volume key DOWN to get into BIOS system. Once you are there find advanced boot option and set LEGACY MODE enabled. then go to Boot sequence option and set LEGACY MODE as well. at the bottom click APPLY to save changes then exit, and system will boot from ssd again..' Fortunately this worked, but much use of the device was lost whilst Googleing which produced no resolution.

Good product but only if you actually update bios, screen firmware and ssd firmware. Then add new drivers and it works very well, with good performance and battery time. Even played on it World of Warcraft for a while. It's a bit heavy for the size, but that's mostly because of battery size and active cooling system inside. Is it perfect? No. But for the price you won't find better.

Their motherboards appear extremely prone to breaking! Dell were extremely unhelpful, offering a new motherboard for £700 (just for the motherboard, not the labour too!). Save your money and buy a Surface.
