It's a 0.049" mouthpiece which was recommended to start with as is more gentle and forgiving. It's great for warm-ups and practice since the soprano sax is a very different animal to the tenor (my other instrument). My daughter prefers this to my Vandoren 6* which is more crisp but for me, harder work. I am learning from near the start but really enjoy the whole experience. Many recommended this mouthpiece to start which is the same as I began on tenor which has been a great way to go. The 4C is most suited for classical applications when you want a steady intonation which the early learning process needs ... so I'm told and many experienced players still use this in their armoury.

Lovely mouthpiece, but doesn't come with a ligature or mouthpiece cap.
