I have to say I am impressed with Intel's i3 530. I have a much more powerful i7 that I love and in comparison to this it runs quieter (read-cooler), draws low power and has a built in GFX chip that plays HD video. As a gaming chip it is not your best choice, some users may see better mileage if they seriously overclock both it and the GPU, but for a HTPC, this is your chip. PS: Don't bother with the 540 unless you intend to overclock or cant get a 530 cheaper. You only need 2.5Ghz for this chip to play HD smoothly (the 530 is more than enough).
