The Ath-MRS7 are a very neutral-sounding, audiophile headphones. They are not bass heavy, and so will appeal less to fans of R&B, reggae or dance music. They reveal a lot of detail in the mid-range and treble, and if you are used to budget headphones, your music collection will open up in a new way. I like a nice bass groove in my music. So I turned up the bass on my graphic equaliser. The build quality is excellent, and the comfort is good. There is good noise cancellation.

Closed back headphones often have sound quality issues when compared to open back designs. The MRS7 is an exception, sounding clean, open and relatively flat with just a little extra top end sparkle. Great build quality and very tasteful aesthetics. Clamp pressure is a little high but the headband responds well to a little stretching. The stock foam pads are also excellent. These are sensitive and low impedance so work well even on low power portable players and phones.

This is my first pro headphones. The sound quality is very good, balance feels a little too flat because it is a monitor headphone but you can easily setup your equaliser according to your taste. Construction is outstanding! Feels firm in my head, the foam pads are extremely comfortable and cover my entire ears making a great outer noise cancelation. Design is superb, discrete and yet feels very modern and young. Absolutely no creak noises when moving or twisting the cups. 3.5 jack plug is in an "L" shape to prevent the cable to break. Microphone is very handy tool for Skype and phone answering. Overall very happy with the purchase. You might be paying more for this headphones than other brands but you are certainly getting an nearly indestructible product that will last a life time.

I didn't want cheap headphones and didn't want to pay lots of money for a top end set but just wanted to pay the sort of money for a set of headphones that feel good, are made well and produce the full range of sound from my favourite CD's. These Audio Technica MSR7's fit the bill perfectly. Like many say, i am hearing parts of the music i have never noticed before listening in the car or through speakers at home. If you are looking to spend betwen £150 to £200 then put these on your short list.
