Alison Krauss and Union Station -- " New Favourite "
Somehow I'd missed Union Station but stumbled across " I am a Man of Constant Sorrow " on the soundtrack of " Oh Brother Where Art Thou ? " . Further rummaging brought me to Dan Tyminski (who sang George Cloony's bit on the film's soundtrack -- guitar and mandolin ) and Jerry Douglas ( dobro and lap steel guitar ) and Alison Krauss , the only one I did know . Idividually they are great musicians -- together they are incredible . Thanks to them I am now a huge fan of Bluegrass music dragged into the 21st century ; this album is the perect introduction to the genre .
