From someone who is a we bit picky.
It should be noted that I have deliberately sold more basic Camcorders before, sighting that they were worse than useless. I am mainly a DSLR man, and DSLR's that have video. But, for me I don't completely like the way this works. So I decided that I wanted to obtain a decent semi-professional camcorder. I Googled and read. And then I saw the Canon HF G25 on eBay. Not quite the latest technology, but far superior to the various "point and shoot" version I have used before. It's not the lightest camera I have ever had, but it doesn't suffer for that. And it can be run in three individual modes, fully automatic (and it says it all), Manual Control and a "Cinema" mode. Haven't tried the Cinema mode yet, but the automatic and manual modes work very well the handful of times I have tried them. It also has , not only a decent amount of on board memory storage, but two additional SD card slots, which can be configured to work in several ways. I have to say, I'm impressed. And I'm a man who is not that impressed these days

Canon HF G25 Exellent
This camera is a good follow on from G10. It produces crisp images and very good quality of video even in low light. If you are good and you know what you are doing, Manual settings is brilliant to use but if you are tech-fobic then choose Auto settings and let the camera do all the work for you. Ease of use; well it is average in that you will need a manual for the camera to give it a good setting for good video. This is where things start going wrong. You will need a computer to view settings that are of good use as booklet manual always refers to the CD manual for almost everything. Over all the camera is perfect for any situation filming.

What a fantastic, dedicated, Camcorder.
The fact that all files are AVCHD doesn't bother me as you can find them in the files and draw them out. I think this is a great entry level, professional camera.
