I`ve been using Ernie Ball strings for decades and in comparrison to others I fid them the most durable I prefere the extra slinky as they don`t need to be so tight when tuned giving me ample oportunities to bend notes to a much clearer degree. Durable well yes and that makes them very good value also. If you don`t like those horrid scratchy noises when running your fingers up and down the fretboard the wound strings are made to cut that to almost nothing so with an expander noise gate also you can play those lead solo`s almost noiselessly. Harmonics we all love to come through do so lou and clear giving amazing expression to your playing.

Ernie Ball strings, used by pros everywhere, these particular Extra Slinky, are so light and easy to play, they make perfect strings for beginners due to the fact they won't hurt your fingers as much. But make no mistake these are quality strings, as used by ZZ Top.

I've put the strings on my Gibson HB35 where they play very well and produce exactly the range of sounds that I need for the music I'm playing. I've often used Ernie Ball strings on this and my Stratocaster and I find I get great sounds as well as long lasting durability.

These strings are brilliant for bending especially play blues. They're not good for playing really heavy on these strings so if you are a heavy picker or strumming stay away from these strings. These are not really suited for hardcore metal musics but really good for shredders. Are do recommend these for most people that are beginners. They are easy to play and does not hurt your fingers too much compared to thicker gauge strings.

Changed to Super Slinky "8s* after reading an article about are we using the wrong strings. Since moving to the lighter strings have found I can practice longer without discomfort, and as a older beginner don't hear much difference in tone. Would highly recommend that beginners try a lighter string, if only for the extended practice time.
