The Panasonic TX-50GX800B certainly is good value for money even though it is somewhat dated. The tv it replaced was a LG plasma screen of several years vintage so obviously this Panasonic has a great picture comparatively . The set up was really straight forward and very easy to understand. The thing I like in particular is the tvs ability to be wired up to my sound system thus negating the need for a sound bar which many people say makes not much difference to the overall sound quality. With my sound system I can shape the sound perfectly. A good feature also is the ability to hide wiring through the feet of the stand. As can be appreciated these types of televisions are really designed to be wall mounted (as fashion dictates) but even on a unit like mine if you put a little effort in and make a proper wiring loom as I have the results are first class . The only downside at the moment after having the television for a couple of weeks is the fact that it leans ever so slightly backwards. But it really is a minor issue.Read full review

This tv is around £600 in the UK which is about £150 more than it is worth, but all LED 4k tvs are overpriced to me. Anyway, the picture is good although not greatly improved upon an HD tv. You will probably find the True Cinema picture setting the best unless you want oversaturated colours. The sound is excellent considering the speakers aren't big. The apps are easy to use and the dedicated Netflix button is useful (if you subscribe to the channel). I found the favourite channels easy and useful to set up on the home screen - saves you swapping channels via the guide. The Freeview Play guide, I haven't figured out yet as I would like to remove the channels I don't watch from the guide to make it quicker to use. One design flaw, all the connections are on on side of the tv, so some of your cables may need to be replaced with longer ones. A good tv but not worth the £600 RRP.Read full review
