Piece of cake to use with great features
Excellent product and a doddle to use despite only needing it because some chinless wonder at Google Chrome Cast, the next equivalent device, decided in their infinite wisdom to withdraw software support for installing its ability to use onto computers. Unless you have an Android version 5 Mobile Phone or more above of OS 11 Apple Smart Mobile which of course I don't have. That said, I love my new Firestick and personally for me, being reunited with the use of U-Tube. It also gives me internet access through the Firefox application and probably another application for internet access if I look further. Potentially a great bit of kit
The stick has an impressive front end homepage, which looks very slick, this skin however often gets lost and the stick software needs prompting back to using it. This happens once every 5 times of using it on average. Besides this, many of the links do not work and it is frustrating to see films/tv shows that look accessible that once selected cannot find a link to a provider. Many of the links fail to provide what you hope for. I suspect this is the case with any of these Kodi run devices so probably not inherent to only this sellers set-up.... this said, I have not used another one to compare, so not sure if it happens across the board. I would say that only 50% of the links to films work. I have been using computers in my work for 25+ years, so it is not a case of not knowing how to use the device. Impressive little gadget
I’m really impressed with this, it was easy to set up, pretty much plug it in, sign in with your Amazon account, give it some idea of your preferences and off you go. All the usuals are there, the 5 mainstream terrestrial channels, plus a few others. As a subscriber to Prime I can now have my Prime movies on my tv rather than my tablet, which is a good thing. There’s plenty of content and apps, more than enough for me. Everything about it is designed for ease, I wish I’d bought one sooner if I’m honest. Setting up was very easy and straight forward. Bit of a fiddle at 1st to find your way around. Good quality streaming of popular items (Man Utd) game it was difficult to find. I have a fibre streaming speed of over 40 mbps. Not a permanent alterative to Sky but great if you don't have all sport channels. Apart from the facts and the remote handset won’t pair with my Goodmans speaker, and that the newer of my two Bluetooth headsets exactly the same make and type, won’t pair, while it will with the older one, it’s not too bad. don't forget to buy a UK Power adapter to plug the USB charging lead into
Whole thing arrived nicely sealed in a box. However, UK purchasers should note that this comes with a two pin EU-type power adapter (non UK plug) for the USB charging lead. Luckily I had a spare UK power adapter or I would not have been able to power the fire stick from the mains electricity (something that's required if you want it to work!). You will need to have an amazon account (and it might be a good idea to get a Prime account as nothing seems to want to work without it!), plus have already set up accounts (via PC or smart device) with ALL the other apps like My5, All4, itv Hub and BBC iPlayer, etc.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
