The late 19th Century period sets and costumes were colourful and lavish in this current Kenneth MacMilland production of this tragic ballet set in 1889 and with music by Franz List.
The orchestral playing by the Royal Opera House orchestra was excellent, along with the dancing with Steven McRae as Crown Prince Rudolf of Austia-Hungary.
