The sets were extremely rich with vibrant colours, and the production was set in the 1850's and Violetta wore a fabulous white crinoline dress for the Party scene in Act I.
The production is being revived for 2020.
The orchestral playing by the Royal Opera House orchestra, conducted by Antonello Manacorda, was excellent, along with the singing with Ermonela Jaho as Violetta, Charles Castronovo as Alfredo and Igor Golovatenko as Gorgio Germont, Alfredo's father.
