This performance received excellent reviews both for the ballet performance and the sets which were extremely colourful and exotic.
The photos above are from the original programme, which has been sold, although the scans are scanned from the programme in colour.

The costumes were also very rich and exuberant, especially the Bronze Idol, played by Alexander Campbell, who was painted in gold.
The orchestral playing by the Royal Opera House orchestra was excellent, along with the dancing, including both Steven McRae as Solor, Akane Takada as Nikiya, and Yasmine Naghdi as Gamzatti.
