This production has exotic sets and oriental costumes full of fabulous colours and details.
The embroidery on some of them glistened under the theatre lighting.
The painted backdrops ere especially good with minarets, and an interesting town scape, presumably of Constantinople.
The whole production had a Thief of Bagdad feel about it, and this was mirrored in the Moorish style arches in several of the scenes.
In one scene, there seems to have been the Taj Mahal in the background. The end scene and ship wreck was also of particular note with rolling waves and had a Flying Dutchman quality about it, both with the music and scenery.
The orchestral playing by the English National Ballet Philharmonic orchestra was excellent conducted by Gavin Sutherland, along with the dancing and the various performers.
