I bought this product as my first digital SLR. Excellent detail and resolution at low ISO settings (especially in raw mode) Very capable AF system, including 3D AF tracking, on a par with much more expensive DSLRs Versatile and fun retouch options including in-camera raw processing Effectively unlimited shooting in JPEG mode (with ADL turned off) User-friendly ergonomics, without sacrificing control Good build quality for the price - no creaks Active D-Lighting helps recover the maximum tonal detail from tricky scenes Reliable exposures, with and without flash (albeit a little bright) Excellent exposure compensation range of -+5EV Good battery life for its class Refreshingly conservative approach to high ISO noise reduction (at default settings) View NX software hugely improved over Picture Project (Not as good as Capture NX2 though) Built-in AF assist lamp Competitive pricing Overall, I highly reccommend this product. Having used Fuji small digital cameras for many years, still had the desire to go back to RLR Digital. Before digital age had SLR that I used. However the newer SLR Digital cameras, as I have found are great. I like Nikon as robust with great reputation. Find the D300O so easy to use, in auto or the other modes. There is no question about the quality of the photographs with this camera. I am thinking that, much as I love my small Fuji cameras, they will not be my main cameras now. Although very convenient to carry, for indoor stuff as family get togethers. Not saying will not use again, as I shall. Great for a backup if battery runs out. Best to always have a backup for that important shot. I am very happy with this camera, Nikon D3000 For many years I said the small digital fixed lens take just as good photographs,I now admit, not quite as good. But still has its place as great and easy to use small cameras. I always carry a camera with me, so you see the smaller digitals a good for that, best of both worlds. Nikon D3000 great for distance scenes, clarity is wonderful. 6281robertn RobRead full review
I bought the Nikon D3000 camera on the recommendation of a friend. Being a complete novice to DSLR's I wanted something easy to use and operator friendly. I got it and more with this camera. It is extremely easy to use, good user guides contained in the menus and so far the photos are great.!! I would recommend it to anyone either new or experienced users.
