More recent models (D5100 D5200 etc) have a very slightly larger LCD screen and attract a much higher price, the D5000 seems to have all the other features and as the LCD screen is rarely used for taking photographs the 1/8th inch increase in its size is irrelevant making this camera a bargain!

This camera takes a fantastic photo and has so many features. It is the perfect camera for someone changing over from a simple point and shoot to a DSLR. The flip round image viewer is superb as you can use it as a viewfinder or use it to read all the technicals of the picture you are about to take. I love it.
