The fifth series of the legal drama begins with Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Cary (Matt Czuchry) secretly planning their exit from Lockhart/Gardner in order to start their own firm. But their plans are pushed into overdrive when Will (Josh Charles) learns about them and angrily confronts Alicia. Meanwhile, Eli (Alan Cumming) tries to secure Diane's Supreme Court nomination, but her candidacy puts her at odds with her colleagues. A bigger problem for Diane (Christine Baranski), however, is the way she treats Alicia upon her exit, which doesn't sit well with now-governor Peter Florrick (Chris Noth). But that's the least of his problems. Peter is investigated by a determined agent (Eric Bogosian) from the Office of Public Integrity on suspicion of voter fraud. At the new Florrick/Agos, accountant Clarke Hayden (Nathan Lane) joins the firm, while at Lockhart/Gardner Will goes against Diane's wishes and hires shady lawyer Damian Boyle (Jason O'Mara), who has ties to organised crime.Product Identifiers

A good legal and political drama worth watching.
An American legal, courtroom and political drama along with the personal lives of the characters, first shown in the UK on the More4 channel. In my opinion, it is a well written and acted drama with a background story line playing throughout the whole 7 series. The series won quite a few Emmy awards and I am quite surprised none of the major terrestrial channels in the UK did not pick up and broadcast The Good Wife series.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

The Good Wife, an excellent tv series, well worth buying if you like court room based dramas
We watched the Good Wife, from Season 4 onwards, on tv. We enjoyed it so much that we are now buying all the dvds. So far, we have bought the first 6 seasons, so there are only 2 more to get. 4 we bought new, but for Seasons 1 and 2 we could only get some 2nd hand, and 3 episodes were spoilt because of scratching on the discs, though not the new and sealed ones we had from Ebay.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
