Written in the style of an expanded manual, with real life examples of some of the settings and why you would use them in the field. The only negative is that it is so comprehensive, unless you KNOW what you are looking for, it sometimes can be difficult finding what it is you want to know. That is not a major drawback as it is a substantial piece of work and I would say, if you spent four figures on this camera, the expense of this book means it would be insane to struggle without it - I have had similar books by David Busch and I have to say this is much better in style and in practical terms. It would be nice if it was sold as a two book set, one like this with everything included, and a very slimmed down essentials guide for all the main stuff. There is a tendency for the meat to get lost in the gravy when you start reading a section. Seen quite a few similar books and they all have this issue to some extent, some are a lot worse - so overall this is the best one I have seen for the D810 - I will hunt around for a slim 'quick guide' now I have this - recommended as a complete reference guide.Read full review
