  • Upgrade from Nikon D3100

I bought this as an upgrade to my trusty D3100, that I've happily owned for several years. It's slightly smaller and lighter than the D3100, and I've quickly got used to it. The image quality is very good, and it's quite intuitive to use. The movable display is a big plus for me, particularly when needing to see what's in the viewfinder for recording videos of me playing the keyboard. On the subject of video recording, it's also useful that you can adjust the sensitivity of the mic input right down to a level where it will actually accept a stereo line output from a mixing desk, without distorting. I tried similar on my Panasonic FZ1000 bridge camera, but anything apart from standard mic level really makes it distort quite badly (or get heavily compressed). It's cool that I can continue to use the extra lenses I purchased for the D3100 on this model (like 35mm F1.8, macro lens, etc) Recommended!

  • Nikon D5600, compact and light, excellent camera.

Excellent camera. Compact and light. The image quality is perfect for my needs and it has all the facilities I could ever use, and more! Focusing is quick and sharp and there are plenty of options. The video mode works extremely well too. I'm not totally convinced that the fold-out screen is a great advantage as it does add a potential vulnerability to damage. However, overall I give this 5 stars.

  • A great camera to step up from a beginner model.

Stepping up from a D3100 and the image quality is substantially better (though in fairness I'm not sure the D3100 was working correctly). The camera is inundated with features including remote control of the camera and shutter through your phone which is not only convenient but reduces the chance of blurred images because the camera isn't moving when pressing the shutter button. Battery life is at least as good as the D3100 although I'll be investing in a battery grip for extra endurance. I've not tried all the features yet however I've loved what I've seen so far.

  • High quality images with this camera

Good image Quality, limited by the focus range 18 - 55 as my other Nikon bridge camera has a 21 x Zoom, so I will have to invest in another lens for d5600! Battery life seems short I have had to recharge it 3 times in 4 days, now turned flight mode on, so hope that will reduce drainage on the battery but I have invested in 2 spare compatible batteries for 1/5 the cost of Nikon.

  • Light weight for heavy task.

I was working with Nikon D5300 and when first time take D5600 it was really light weight and looks smaller but working better thanks touch screen. Possibility touch focus point on screen fantastic. Using mobile phone as remote control without touching ISO, shutter speed and aperture on camera makes capturing pictures easily and faster. Was not expected so good wide range camera.

  • Perfect for the DSLR beginner!

Image quality far better than my micro 4/3 Lumix G3. Controls are pretty simple - there are loads of good videos on YouTube if you need help. The price was incredible based on the big street and other online retailers - i was sure there would something wrong but no, everything was brand new and perfect. Recommended!

  • A lot to learn but great results on auto while I get to know the camera

I haven't had it long but the D5600 is a very capable camera as an upgrade. A newcomer to photography might find it overwhelming having to learn the craft and the myriad of settings. The kit lens gives good results. The on-board flash works well although most of the use has been with test shots both indoors and outside to illuminate single roses but seems adequate for general use. Beware the battery may well not last for the 600 or more shutter releases it says in reviews as you get used to the camera. Changing settings and sifting through the menus eats battery. A recharge takes about an hour depending on the remaining charge. The camera is quite light with the kit lens and sits comfortably on the neck with the supplied strap.

  • Great entry level camera

As an entry level DSLR this is a great camera. Pretty easy to use and takes great pics even on the auto setting so really feels like a ‘no experience needed’ kind of camera.
