A great TV. Very easy to set-up. The quality of picture and sound is very good and compliments my Panasonic Viera DVD recorder. I actually bought this TV just over a year ago and it has never let me down so when my mother-in-law wanted to replace her CRT set, she wanted what I had - hence this purchase. Would I want to fall foul of my mother-in-law? No way. I would recommend this set to anyone - a great buy.
Quick and simple setup. Freeview reception and tuning is very good. The dual HDMI ports are also very useful; copuled to a Panasonic PVR and a Panasonic VCR/DVD it all works very smoothly. The TV can be partly controlled from either for the two peripheral remotes. On the downside, the unit is fairly thick and heavy, and gets quite warm; but was easy to wall-mount. On the plus side, interfacing and I/O are good, picture quality is good, sound is above average but of course would benefit from a 5.1 Surround system. Purchased second hand in excellent condition, specifically because the other kit was panasonic and it offered better connectivity. Has delivered on what it offers - many more features available (viera link) than we have as yet explored.
I purchased this to try to use it in place of two monitors for my PC. Other reviews on user sites had said it would be a difficult task to get text to show on the TV from a computer. As this price on eBay was low enough for it to be worthwhile trying, after the first 30 minutes I did think it was not going to work but persevered with PC settings TV settings and using an HD cable from my HD Graphics Card seemed to produce the best quality of text. Finally I managed to rearrange the desktop view, test size and brightness and contrast to work as well and most monitors as long as I don't get too close, then it seems to have a bit of an outward fade at the top of the text. For all the software I use for graphics this is a superb solution as it gives me greater image quality and allows me to work on bigger areas than on a small monitoer with most of the controls and options being shown on another small monitor. All-in-all this has been a success and has proven that if I do finally get a 32 inch monitor (when they come way down in price) then I would be able to a) incorporate it into my desk and room and b)that I would actually be able to sit back comfortable away from the screen.Read full review
