best recorder i have ever had, pretty much perfect
this recorder is keyless, meaning there are no moving parts, so no parts to replace. it is made of plastic, so no maintenance required. the finger holes are closely set together, so easy to reach. the price is excellent because i have seen used models that actually cost the same thing if u include shipping, so u might as well buy new. the only thing that i would change, if i were recorder designer, is curved windway; it's only slightly curved. i would make it extremely curved so the saliva does not clog it. by the way, i have a low c whistle, made by Shearwater, the windway is so well done that when i play it a lot, the saliva actually streams off to the side of "square hole that has a sharp edge". yes, there is actually a stream of saliva on the side of my low c whistle, so it does not actually accumulate in the windway, it flows on the side of it! i know there is a stream because the saliva stains the metal, so i basically see a dark thick line on the side of my low c. you should design the windway, fipple or whatever it is called just like the Shearwater low c whistle.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Alto 211A Tenor Recorder - Lightweight quality.
I did quite a lot of research into the better/best tenor recorders before buying this product, and this came out very high in reviews. Unfortunately, I am not impressed. I do have a couple of descant recorders; one wood, the other plastic and have had an alto wooden recorder, before it passed its best. I also play clarinet and wanted to extend my range of instruments during lockdown after re-discovering the recorder. This tenor recorder seems to lack 'tonal body', with little opportunity to develop any volume (yes, I am aware one should not blow hard into these instruments). I'm sure there are some much better tenor recorders out there, including and especially, the wood range. Also, I should not have believed the reviews before purchasing this instrument, since many are quite subjective. Finally, I should have returned it, rather than thinking my disappointment with it, rested solely with me.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great tenor recorder for small hands
Recorder sounds ok, definitely good enough for school ensemble. The recorder is slightly thinner than other tenor ones and the holes are arranged in a way that the gap between the two hand s is bigger while the holes between the fingers of each hand have moved closer together. This makes playing much easier and more comfortable as it is less stretch for the fingers. We specifically bought it for our 11 year old son who’s hands are retry average size for his age and this is the only recorder we could find that he can just about manage to cover all the holes easily enough to play it properly. He tried several others in this and slightly higher price range and they were all too much of a stretch. I tried it myself and find playing it very comfortable, feels more like a treble. Like the price, too, don’t have to be too worried when it gets taken to school. Sounds good although I am sure an advanced recorder player would want something slightly better at some point.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent beginner instrument
This is a great beginner instrument at a very reasonable price. I love that a fingering chart is included & realise I have been playing some notes incorrectly & this has improved my intonation.
