Klon Clone / really good boost O/D
According to BooInstruments this is a faithful reproduction made with high quality components which I guess accounts for the cost. Does it sound like Ye Olde Klon? dunno never heard the real thing just a few copies in the shops. Sound wise I couldn't find a fault it basically just works and lets the dynamics and sound of your guitar / amp come through working in conjunction with both. The Drive goes through from non to medium its not a high gain pedal to get more saturation your using the level as a front end boost to work in conjunction with valve amps natural distortion. I like the look of the pedal its a sturdy case that will last and the chicken head nobs give a retro feel, the engraving is a nice touch also the guy I dealt with couldn't have been more helpful when I pestered him about power usage. They offer a money back period if your not happy with it or it doesn't suit your rig for some reason you can send it back. No comes the big question are Boutique (hand made pedals) worth it? Its kind of like this I've had a TS808 for donkeys years its been modded and is still going strong, stuff built with discreet high quality components just last literary a lifetime.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

One of the best Klon klones I have
I've had a Boo Instruments tremolo for a good few years and it's a great sounding, well made pedal, so despite having 3 Klon clones already, I thought this was worth trying. And I'm glad I did! Each of the, now 4, klon clones I own has a slightly different sound. The NUX Horseman is okay in silver mode, but in gold mode it's too bassy. The Wampler Tumnus is very good and a favourite with many guitarists, but my personal favourites from my collection are the RYRA Klone and this one, the KC Klone. Considering these two favourites have different EQ curves when the Gain is set to it's lowest setting (how a lot of guitarists use a Klon), the RYRA has more low end, the Boo more top end mids, they both create great usable tone and both sound great with more gain. Anyway, I can't afford a real Klon and I've never played through one, so I can't say which of any of my Klon clones sounds closest to the real thing, but both the Boo KC Klone and RYRA Klone give me sounds that I love to play with. Wish I'd bought it sooner.
Well made, looks good,light up lid is way more than a gimmick. Controls have a huge sweep, it's hard to find a sound that's not usable. Works wonders as a boost on clean. A little dirt on gain and it's away.Massive sound via 20 watts and a 4x10. Pedal line up is compressor, eq, Boo Klon, honey drive then modulations and delays through send and return. The klon has a creamy sound that's hard not to like,boosts other pedals to sound better than they ever have. As a stand alone drive it excels, long singing clear sustain and a thick solid tone. So far only used it with single coils and had no problems with noise. Humbucker guitar is having surgery can't wait to try that out. The Boo guy seems a gent and his pedal is truly very good,never tried an original klon so can't make a comparison but I'm more than impressed by this one. Boo KC - Amazing boost and OD
I’ve never been lucky enough to play a “real” Klon pedal, but I’ve played with a few clones, and this is up there with the best of them.
