I have owned a Sony A100 for several years and really like this camera. The A350 is the next step forward for me in the Sony line. I like the A350 for every day use and the simplicity of functions which makes the camera easy to use by a novice such as myself. As I already have a Good selection of Sony, Sigma and Minolta lenses for my A100 it just made sense to stay with Sony. What do I like about the Sony A350! well lets start with the Articulated LCD screen which allows more comfortable shooting from above or below. The Live View mode doesn't affect AF speed at all, it has a good body size and solid feel and great grip. Its function button makes access to commonly used functions easy. it has a good menu design for quickly moving among selections Dynamic Range Optimization works well, preserving detail in highlights and shadows. Infrared sensor detects approaching eye and starts autofocusing. Super SteadyShot stabilizes images regardless of lens attached. There are many, many other qualities to mention in relation to this camera.Read full review
After years of lugging professional-quality cameras around the weight was getting to be an issue now I'm not so young. This one is so much lighter I'm back to carrying a DSLR everywhere, and shooting in RAW which my compact doesn't offer. True, the viewfinder is smaller than I'm used to with full-frame, but the extra working distance with my macro lenses is a bonus that easily makes up for it. This camera came out not long after I'd bought my Sony A850, and I had a tinge of regret back then that I'd not waited longer. The adjustable live view would have been great for the ground-level macro photography I was doing back then - and I could do that now if it was so easy to get up again! Image quality is good with my lenses. The camera doesn't have some features my other body does such as DOF preview, but I can live without it. Frame rate is a bit slow too. But it's overall a good camera for a very fair price. The seller of this had charged the battery fully so I could use it straight away, and the bag is a great bonus, as is the card reader though I normally just plug the camera in to the computer to download images..Read full review

I initially bought the camera as I already had an old Minolta 7000 film camera with several lenses, I was loathed to get rid of these lenses and so after some research I discovered that the Sony DSLR range of cameras were totally compatible with my lenses, thus enabling to move over to digital photography. Just buying the camera body enables me to use my entire range of lenses. I am exceptionally pleased with my purchase not to mention my transition to digital photography. This camera has everything anybody could wish for as regards to its simplicity of use and overall handling and usage, I would highly recommend this camera to anyone considering changing from film photography to digital format. Well done Sony for your innovative thinking with regard to the usage of old technology with new.Read full review
