Product is unfinished, the wood needs treatment/coating.
Product is unfinished and therefore unfit to hang outdoors. The wood needs to be treated with a coating to protect it from the environment (rain/snow/sunlight/moisture). It also took 3-4 weeks to ship from Ireland to Norway, which is quite long. I ordered this item a week before Christmas time so some of that waiting time is justified. Small hanging bird tablr
The item was a little smaller than I expected and literally made in Bare wood which wouldn’t last very long out in the rain.The base was a very thin plywood. I painted and lacquered the whole item once I’d put it together in the hope that it would last longer. I actually like this size because only smaller birds are able to go inside to feed. Excellent - little birds took to it immediately and strong enough to withstand squirrel raids!
Easy to assemble, keeps assembled, birds took to it very quickly, no lengthy wait for them to get used to it. It attracts the little birds obviously but of course the squirrels aswell and can withstand their weight and the swinging about that of course then occurs. Birds will still use it even if it is then left at a bit of an angle! I suspect big birds take the produce that falls to the ground due to the squirrels - for this reason having at the back of the garden rather than the front in the event the fallen food attracts rodents might be a good idea! (Will depend how you choose to tie it to say a hanging basket thingy in terms of it staying totally upright and therefore preventing spillage.) Excellent, clever, inexpensive and effective product. Made to a price
This table is a budget version of its former self with much lighter timber being used, particularly on the roof. The previous one lasted years with the hanging cord replaced but eventually rot got to the roof and the staples rusted..
