Bought this to cut grass on a very steep bank, where no other lawn mower seemed to do the job. Good bits; Honda engine which is easy to start and very powerful. Low maintenance Easy to maneuver once its running and not clogged up with grass cuttings Bad bits Very heavy 21.5kg hard to move around when not running Grass cuttings can clog up the vents which reduces its up lift when mowing but likely to be an issue with most hover mowers Due to weight it can be tiring to work on steep bank for long duration End up buying a 2 stroke flymo with Tucomseh engine which is light and easy to move around but a complete pain to start. Wish honda made a lighter engines ;(

This Flymo with the Honda engine is a superb bit of kit. Starts really easily, runs on unleaded fuel (no mixing two stroke oil) and is extremely reliable. Cuts even the longest wet grass with ease.

The Flymo XL500 push mower works perfect. The engine is not too loud. It is very good for difficult areas.
Love not having to mix 2 stroke oil! Engine very easy to start - given that it is a four stroke which can often have high compression and kick back when starting - also relatively quiet compared with similar sized two strokers. Great quality manufacture. Two drawbacks - weight is an issue if you need to move without the engine running ( I was aware of this when I purchased so not complaining!) Also grass cuttings tend to gather on the hover air intakes quite quickly which you then have to clear which for safety reasons means stop and restart motor. Altogether very pleased with the mower as I knew what I was buying but do consider the weight issue if you are expecting your wife to cut your grass!
