Replacing a near identical one that had plastic blades, this one is metal and cuts cleaner. The old one was well over 10 years old and still going but getting tired so time to retire it. It's light, clean cutting and no waste to get rid of as it mulches the cuttings back into the grass. If it lasts like the old one I'll be well happy. Apparently this is seller refurbished but probably just a catalogue return, looks brand new and in original packaging so why pay full price? 🤔.

This is only the second flymo I have owned - the previous version having been bought decades ago. The reason I bought the mower was to deal with my daughters garden which is extremely uneven and fairly large. I had hoped that the mower would glide more easily over the humps and bumps but I must admit that I have found it a struggle. The mower I know would have coped very easily on my small flat lawn. In hindsight, I have probably bought the wrong machine for my daughters garden. If I could get the mower to glide a little higher (if that is possible?) then that would make mowing a lot easier; accepting of course that the grass would be cut higher.
