the camera takes excellent pictures, video is good too ... you should buy rechargable batteries like that ul be fine ....i recommend it :)
I recently bought one of these cameras (used) because my Fuji FinePix decided to throw a wobbly and tell me my battery was low, even when it was replaced with a fully charged, brand new one. The S800 is a handy little camera but I think the designers got a bit carried away with how many extra bells and whistles to add. The manual is 82 pages long and by the time you read and partially understand it all you will probably have lost interest in photography altogether. Personally I prefer a simple system with automatic point and shoot settings. I really don't want to spend half an hour getting lost in confusing menus before I can take a picture. It may be nice having all of these adjustable settings, so that you can pretend that you are a professional photographer, but I can't see any professionals buying one of these in the first place. If you set the display to show all of your changed settings there is barely enough space remaining to see the picture you were going to take. You can, of course, turn off the settings display, by getting lost in the menu again. The picture quality is not as good as my previous Fuji but it is acceptable. I certainly wouldn't buy one of these again, except at a bargain price on eBay.Read full review
This camera was purchased to replace a similar one stolen but is slightly more "up market" I find it neat, compact, easy to use and produces excellent pictures with clear detail and definition. Through E-Bay I was able to buy new at a very reasonable price. There is little to say against it as it covers all the criteria it sets out to fulfill except that the instruction booklet could cover more aspects especially the printing of pictures. The booklet recommends the Samsung website for help line. However all the website gives is the TV advert for new cameras.
pros: very easy to use so great camera for beginners. ample lcd screen size for pinpoint accuracy when taking shots. very easy to find a feature you want to use and everything is text labeled rather than symbols which no-one understands at first glance. digital zoom works a treat. optical zoom not so well but enough for a good shot. stylish small and when held in shooting position feels like it grew there. 8.1 megapixel!!! what more could you ask for crystal clear quality and variable megapixel for storage purposes. recording perfect and as expected. this cam is basically a brand new mobile phone without wap, bluetooth and the abilty to make phone calls. cons: on 8.1mp setting you can take a measly 4-6 pics so internal memory is way too small but easily sorted with a 2gb mem card. -pogodyRead full review
