The S5 mini is a great little phone with a fairly proficient snapper onboard. It slips into the pocket, unlike some of todays models which are enormous by comparison, it has a really sharp and bright display. It has some water reistance and one can replace the battery if needed, it has 16gb of internal memory that can be expanded with a micro sd. All in all a solid little performer, i like it enough that i bought a spare.

I would give this another star if it did not include an aggressively intrusive and invasive version of Google which seems mandatory in order for things to work. You buy the phone then have to sell your soul to Google. PROS: It is very stable and reliable, it is very quick and it is bright. It does everything most people would need and 200% more than most would need. It can be put on charge without switching fully on (unlike most Windows phones). It charges very quickly. The charging lead is dual purpose and can also connect to your PC (USB3 and USB2). CONS : You have to live with Google privacy intrusion as stated at the start. It does not come with many useful apps, so you need to find apps for almost everything normally needed. If this is your first Android, it is NOT intuitive. It has a tiny quick start instruction sheet as useful as a sheet of loo roll. Best option is to try and talk with another user or read the complete "bible" from the Internet. Like most phones, once understood it is a doddle. Even with all volume settings at 100%, the volume is little stronger than in phone mode, otherwise I would give another star. A huge amount of desktop screen is taken up with annoying unchanging adverts. Maybe I will find a way to remove these. It comes with an ultra short charging/USB connection lead of only 1 metre but longer aftermarket ones are cheap enough. Make sure you order the correct USB 3 enabled lead. It uses battery quickly so expect to charge twice a day, with light use, however this is somewhat offset by very quick charging VERDICT : For circa £130 for a fully sealed factory SIM free version it is probably one of the best phones for the money. Nice product but kept reverting to a black screen. Aparently reading about it this product seems to have this problem. Means you cant rely on it being on and able to use. Working through all the suggested solutions but keeps happening. Its from the pre installed apps or firewarn. I wouldnt haave bought if Id have been aware

For us non intensive phone users, it is ideal - solid and reliable. A bridge between old and new technology .
