I bought mine new in 2001 with case, extra memory cards, external charger and a handful of spare batteries for around £1000. Though expensive at the time it has served me well ever since only requiring a few extra batteries. I have no intention of getting ride of it.. This is a first generation digital camera but was way ahead of its game when it first came out. It takes superb pictures thanks to it's great optics. It also has all the bells a whistles of a professional camera except changing lenses. The only flaw is the memory speed and capacity when using the highest resolution, it takes a while to write to the memory cards between takes and the largest card stores less than 10 pics. This is really apparent if you take multiple high resolution pics in sequence mode. These camras can be picked up for next to nothing secondhand and are well worth having if you are on a limited budget and want to take great pictures. To overcome the memory speed problem buy two they are that cheap now.Read full review
