For sale a gorgeous lebayle metal jazz #”) tenor saxophone mouthpiecethe mouthpiece i’m selling is a nice #8*the mouthpiece has medium large chamber with a slight oval restrictionthe mouthpiece has been used, but super clean, no dings or whateverthis mouthpiece features a high floor slope with a nice bullet chamber, with a tiny roll-over bafflebranford, wayne shorter, ravi coltrane, liebman (before his signature pieces) used a lebayle “metal jazz” on tenor saxophone… more or less in #8*/9 tip opening actuallythe lebayle is kinda more “neutral”, less coloredget advantage of the weak eur of these pandemic daysthe “metal jazz” was probably the most popular fred lebayle’s design, when in brassdefinitely free blowing… medium to low resistancesuper even/thick with an added hint of brightness (due to the roll-over baffle)it doesn’t need any kind of refacing or whatsoeverpictures: *link removed* price: eur 170 including ups/dhl shipping to most destinations… and paypal feesthis one is already one from when fred lebayle just settled down in brooklyn (nyc)shipping from italy (europe)despite quite different in design, the sound almost match a good vintage metal link, but kind fuller in the mid high register

The mouthpiece is in like new conditionsfor sale an ingenious 10mfan “the classic” #7* gen ii tenor saxophone mouthpiece, made in ultemthe mouthpiece here for sale is made in ultem, polyetherimide (pei)the gen ii mouthpiece are no longer made by erik falconthis is a high strength polymer it has been used for mouthpiece since at least 25 yearsthis mouthpiece was design to offer a more otto link-ish vibe compared to its brother, the “merlot”the feeling is to have a mouthpiece slightly more reactive and faster… slightly less boomy and/or shrill at high dynamics but the thing you’ll notice is the sustain, it’s a perceptively longer sustain*link removed* “the classic“ has been introduced on the market at the end of november and this one for sale is a “generation ii” made by brian powell e erik greiffenhagen (the mouthpiece guys)pictures: *link removed* price: eur 290/gbp 254 including tracked shipping (ups or dhl within europe)it’s a particularly appealing for otto link “slant signature” loversthe chamber is somewhat larger and the side walls are more undercutted… the baffle is shorter and lower but overall the floor slope is higher and goes into the chamberthe mouthpieceguys took over the production, so the facing work is more “traditional” compared to the gen i mouthpieces, slightly thicker tip and rails and no ultra long facing curvesthere are more design elements of a genuine vintage linksbuyer pays the fees if anythe beak is somewhat lower, to match the shape of the vintage linksit’s around 20% heavier/denser than the regular hard rubber, and much easier to be machinedit has almost no effect on the sound, compared to the hr version… except for a gentle compressioncompared to the “merlot”… “the classic” sounds somewhat less fat and beefy, but provides more mid-range complexity, you may say it has the “link nasality” still a medium-dark mouthpiece, with an amazing dynamic range
