axolotls are large neotonic aquatic salamanders only found in parts of mexicoalthough best kept alone, a few axolotls of a simlar size can be kept togetherkeep your set-up out of direct light as axolotls don't have eyelids and are sensitive to too much lightif not fed regularly or if they don't have enough room, axolotls have been known to bite off each others limbsyou can use an internal water filter to help keep the water clean (keeping in mind axolotls like the water relatively still)they feed on a varied diet from crickets to worms, eating nearly anything that will fit in their mouth (they love freshwater shrimp and will eat pellets)avoid using any size gravel that can be swallowed; causing ill health and can even be fatala good set up for one axolotl would consist of an aquarium of 60 x38 x30cm (24 x 15 x 12in)remember, do not use water straight from the tap, let it stand for 48hrs before introducing to your aquariumthey are easy to keep and grow to an impressive 30cm, making the axolotl a popular exotic petthese ones are captive bred youngsters and are approx 5 inch nowhowever, don't over crowd your set up - make sure your axolotl has plenty of spacethe water should be around c ( f) and shallow, as deep as the axolotl is longdecorate the aquarium with a mixure of plastic plants and oxygenating plant, with maybe a couple of large pebblesweekly cleaning of pebbles/plants and a partial water change is recommended

Albino and leucistic axolotls available for collection from m20axolotls are amazing creatures and can be relatively simple to keep but have specific requirements to ensure they live a full and healthy lifeif you're setting up a brand new tank, you need to allow time for the nitrogen cycle to establishplease message me for more informationi would recommend keeping the water level lowered and having minimal decorations for the time beingplease do your research before committingupdated - now taking orders; £20 each or 2 for £30- albino & leucisticapproximately 7 weeks old, have been eating frozen bloodworm and brineshrip shrimp for about 2-3 weeksyou can find information online or ask for advice from your local aquatics shophind leg buds now formingthey dislike bright lights, too much water flow from filters and can't be housed with other fishthey can live upto 20yrs and grow upto cmsplease take a look online for more informationi'm happy to reserve small numbers if you need time to preparefrozen or live bloodworm/ adult brineshrip will be required but you can begin to offer diced earthworms in another few weeks
