For sale an ingenious 10mfan “the classic” #7* gen ii tenor saxophone mouthpiece, made in ultemthere are more design elements of a genuine vintage linksthe beak is somewhat lower, to match the shape of the vintage linksthe gen ii mouthpiece are no longer made by erik falconthe mouthpieceguys took over the production, so the facing work is more “traditional” compared to the gen i mouthpieces, slightly thicker tip and rails and no ultra long facing curvesthe mouthpiece here for sale is made in ultem, polyetherimide (pei)the feeling is to have a mouthpiece slightly more reactive and faster… slightly less boomy and/or shrill at high dynamics but the thing you’ll notice is the sustain, it’s a perceptively longer sustainit’s around 20% heavier/denser than the regular hard rubber, and much easier to be machinedthe chamber is somewhat larger and the side walls are more undercutted… the baffle is shorter and lower but overall the floor slope is higher and goes into the chamberit has almost no effect on the sound, compared to the hr version… except for a gentle compressionit’s a particularly appealing for otto link “slant signature” lovers*link removed* “the classic“ has been introduced on the market at the end of november and this one for sale is a “generation ii” made by brian powell e erik greiffenhagen (the mouthpiece guys)the mouthpiece is in like new conditionscompared to the “merlot”… “the classic” sounds somewhat less fat and beefy, but provides more mid-range complexity, you may say it has the “link nasality” still a medium-dark mouthpiece, with an amazing dynamic rangepictures: *link removed* price: eur 290/gbp 254 including tracked shipping (ups or dhl within europe)buyer pays the fees if anythis mouthpiece was design to offer a more otto link-ish vibe compared to its brother, the “merlot”this is a high strength polymer it has been used for mouthpiece since at least 25 years
