I am a small, hobby breeder of rare shetland fowl poultrythey are between bantam and large fowl in sizethese are beautiful green egg laying chickens originating from the shetland islandsthe cockerels carry the dominant green egg gene and are generally good natured, easy to handle and not overly noisymy eggs are believed fertile and i check fertility regularlyi only breed from birds with a tappit but some do still hatch withoutit may therefore take a few days to collect up eggs after orderingthe majority of my stock are black with silver or gold hackle feathers but i do occasionally produce beautiful wheatens and reds50) please note: no birds currently for salewhilst i am happy to post eggs (carefully packed in poly boxes and sent out 1st class signed for), fertility can be adversely affected by posting so collection is encouragedthey are correct in all colours and most hatch with the preferred 'tappit' (crest of head feathers)if you have any questions about this lovely breed, please do not hesitate to contact me£ 12 for 6 (postage £6posted eggs only during coronavirus travelling restrictionsno collection - no matter how local you arei collect up hatching eggs fresh daily and sell only those that i consider to be the correct colour - that is olive greenshetlands are hardy and long-lived

From my hatch of shetland poultry, i have 2 young cockerels available to knowledgable and enthusiastic poultry keepers with good, clean set-upsif you have any questions about shetland fowl, please do not hesitate to contact meshetlands are between bantam and large fowl in size so not overly large and can happily live with bantams if requiredshetland cockerels carry the dominant green egg gene meaning that almost all hen chicks they produce will lay a blue/green egg (when mated to other breeds)these boys are currently living happily together but i am happy to sell them separatelywith either cockerel, it is likely that 75% of off-spring will develop a 'tappit'hatched may this year so still not in their full adult glory but just starting to crow and tread the hensfor example when mated to a white egg layer, the resulting hen chicks will lay a light blue eggtwo cockerels available (one of which has the preferred 'tappit') crest of head feathers
