The 20-fret fingerboard is rosewoodthe plain rosewood bridge with plastic saddle has brass pins to secure the strings and provide an added tone depthyamaha fg502m mahogany & rosewood acoustic guitar () made in the yamaha kaohsiung factory, taiwan somewhat rarehard to find ! very good used condition with some very minor scuff marks to the rear of body as could be expected as a result of age & performance use * you are very welcome to arrange by message to view & try out the guitar at my home near barnstaple * additional information the neck, top, back, sides & bridge are constructed from solid mahoganya really nice vibrancy that many guitars under £ 800 do not havei have found it to be much crisper when i use a thinner pick and phosphor-bronze light or extra light stringsi have used a dynamic cardioid microphone pointed about four inches (10cm) up the neck from the sound hole and this really exemplifies the distinctive sound of this guitarthe solid mahogany construction has some crispness and definition complemented by added warmness on the bottom endthe guitar has a clean, warm quality sound that really comes across in recordingthe no-frills, matte body finish seems to allow more resonance than heavy gloss finishes of many lower-priced acousticsthe mid bass is more pronounced, giving it that warm, cosy strumming sound************************************************ if you have any questions at all - please contact me - i will be happy to help read more6-inch scale it is a standard dreadnought sizedonly made between andthe guitar has chrome tuning machines that are enclosed but have the more traditional large style keysthe fg502m has a more pronounced mid-bass, so those who use thicker picks and heavier strings will probably have to 'roll off' the bass to get a clean strummed sound
